I’ve been in the hospitality business for over 30 years, as a travel consultant, hotel sales executive and conference/event manager. My international meetings have taken me to Europe, Rwanda for an AIDS meeting and Brazil for an international medical congress. Personal travel includes most countries in Europe, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, Kenya, Peru, Egypt, Southeast Asia (a cruise on the Andaman Sea was a true highlight), New Zealand/Australia and French Polynesia. I’ve been to China, the first time in 1983 just after Americans were allowed to travel there, and again in 2006 – what an amazing difference! I am certified by Imperial Tours as a China Expert.
Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to travel to some pretty exotic locales: Indonesia, Morocco, Western and Central Turkey, and Cuba. I’ve loved the many cruises we’ve been on, but lately my husband and I have really enjoyed land-based tours with small groups or privately-led. The nicest part of a tour like this is the possibility of staying in charming villages or the center of a town, and especially to dine in neighborhood cafes trying local foods. Night times in foreign places are very interesting for people watching!
I really enjoy working with cruisers, first-time or seasoned. I try to customize their cruises with private shore excursions and unique pre or post hotels/special tours. I also love working with people who want independent custom trips. Combining my own travel experience with Virtuoso’s huge network of onsite agents in most every country of the world, planning these independent journeys is not only fun for me, but flawless due to the expertise at my fingertips. It’s a joy to arrange a once-in-a-lifetime trip for couples or family groups and have all of their expectations (and dreams) met!
I have had the privilege of hosting many Virtuoso Voyager Club sailings that have taken my husband Bobby and me around the world. Plus, we have met so many wonderful Virtuoso travelers.
